A spectacular edge with our new spectrometer

Weco is focused on service excellence through continuous improvements, and therefore we have recently added a Thermo Scientific Niton XRF spectrometer to our Quality Assurance Department.
The Thermo Scientific Niton is a spectrometer that offers superior detection limits and exceptionally fast measurement times. It allows us to get lab-quality results in our factory with no damage to the sample, and to analyse nearly every element in all types of metal alloys, including copper, stainless steels, nickels, cobalt and more. This also means we can now print our own certificates listing alloy grade and chemistry, in-house.

Previously, we could send material to a lab to be analysed. This, however, would take 5 to 7 working days, plus transport time, and time waiting for reports to be issued from the lab. We can now determine material specifications and print the certificate in under 2 minutes, which means greater efficiency and accuracy in our Quality Assurance department and greater capacity in our Research and Development Team to expand our product offering.
For our customers, we can now, quickly and accurately, provide certificates on the composition of parts, as well as assist with new product development in a fraction of the time as before. The verification of metal alloys for manufacturing quality assurance and quality control, also allows us to improve product reliability and safety standards.

Just another way we’re striving for Rock Solid Dependability!
